sci-fi

Many bookworms claim that it is absolutely impossible to find a movie based on a book that’s better than the book itself. Nonetheless, the sci-fi TV series we are about to share surely is as good as the books they are based on. We are certain that those who enjoy watching such a genre have seen at least two of these shows.

Top-Rated Sci-Fi TV Series Based on Books

We have picked relatively new titles, so you shouldn’t have problems finding them online. Make sure you read our post until the end to find out which are the sci-fi books that will soon be turned into movies. Before we provide you with our thorough list, we would like to share a few streaming platforms where you can see the TV shows:

  • Netflix
  • HBO Max
  • Hulu
  • Peacock
  • Apple TV

The Society

We believe there isn’t a person who hasn’t heard of the book Lord of the Flies by the brilliant William Golding. Although the TV series The Society carries a different name, its plot is actually inspired by this masterpiece. The Netflix production aired on May 19, 2019. The plot follows the story of several high school students who should learn to survive on their own after the rest of the people mysteriously disappear from the town. Even though the show received positive feedback, it, unfortunately, got canceled after the release of its first season.

Altered Carbon

The TV series Altered Carbon is based on the book of the same name written by the author Richard K. Morgan. The action takes place in the future, and more precisely, in the year 2384. In this abnormal world, people’s memories are stored on special devices that are implanted into people’s necks. Society is divided into several social classes, and the wealthiest are known as Meths.

In the pilot episode of the series, a soldier is given the mission to solve a murder. If he succeeds, his entire life will change for the better. The first season premiered on Netflix in 2018, and two years later, the second season premiered, as well. Sadly, similar to the case of The Society, the show got canceled after season two.

Foundation

The very first episode of Foundation aired on September 24, 2021. The sci-fi TV show was created for Apple TV and is based on the book series by Isaac Asimov. The first Foundation book was published between the period of 1942 and 1950 in the form of short stories. Set in the future, the plot follows the story of a mathematician who is determined to succeed in his endeavor of developing an extraordinary theory that will predict the future of mankind.

Brave New World

The dystopian sci-fi novel named Brave New World was published back in 1932. Aldous Huxley, the author of the book, thanks to his brilliant imagination, has created a futuristic world where everyone is excited to become a witness to as many modern innovations as possible. Everyone but one – the main protagonist. The book is considered one of the best ones of its genre.

The TV series with the same name aired on July 15, 2020, on Peacock. The overall number of episodes that got released equals nine due to the fact that the show got canceled after only one season. That’s quite unfortunate because the show received mostly positive reviews.

The Handmaid’s Tale

It would be a shame to miss the spectacular TV show The Handmaid’s Tale. The dystopian series is based on a book of the same name written by Margaret Atwood. The TV show did so great that the book became even more popular after its release. The show aired on Hulu in 2016, and it portrays a world where women are crushed by the leaders.

The Handmaids are females from the lower classes that are used for carrying wealthy people’s children. They engage in a so-called ritualized rape that takes place in the respective family’s homes. The wives of the men that perform the activities are completely aware of this operation, and they are even obliged to be present in the room during the process.

In 2019, the show was positioned 25th in The Guardian’s ranking for the 100 Best TV shows for 2021. Experts describe the show as brutal, visually brilliant, and phenomenal. On September 22, 2022, it is expected for the first episode of season five to air on Hulu.

Sci-Fi Books to Soon Be Adapted into Movies

Fans of the genre are probably excited to find out more about the upcoming books-based sci-fi TV shows that will be released on some of the most popular streaming services. The list is not short, but the most anticipated titles are surely The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Autonomous, Station Eleven, and Snow Crash.

WitcherOnly a few years ago, fantasy seemed to be everywhere. Half the books on the best sellers list were fantasy, Hollywood studios were fighting tooth and nail to adapt anything from “The Golden Compass” to “Eragon” on the big screen, the fantasy game “World of Warcraft” was all the rage… It’s weird, but when I was a kid, it honestly felt like the world lived and breathed fantasy, the way they are right now with superheroes. And it was good fantasy, too! Well, at least some of it was. “Lord of the Rings” managed to get every Oscar known to man, “A Song of Ice and Fire” was selling like crazy long before anyone even conceived a TV show, and if I started naming all the amazing fantasy RPGs from the 2000s, we’ll literally be here all day.

And then something changed. I don’t know when it happened or when I started to notice this shift, but all of a sudden, fantasy didn’t seem to be around anymore. I can’t recall the last time I watched a big blockbuster hard fantasy flick, and even big fantasy franchises seem to have dropped that gimmick (“Thor”, the only fantasy superhero on the silver screen, went in a sci-fi direction with his latest movie, and “Final Fantasy” swapped the hard fantasy the series is often associated from for urban fantasy). Honestly, I thought it was just me, that I was just picky or something, but no, the data supports this – currently, as of the time of this writing (early November), there isn’t a single fantasy book on the New York Times’ bestsellers list. And looking over at the movies’ department, the only hard fantasy “swords and sorcery” movie that came out this year was the Guy Ritchie “King Arthur”.

It’s not like fantasy has been completely absent from entertainment. “Game of Thrones” continues to be a gigantic smash hit, even if the show itself has been crap ever since they dropped the political intrigue in favor of big battles in which none of the characters are in actual danger. One of the biggest games of the last few years, “The Witcher 3”, was a fantasy title through and through – and speaking of “The Witcher”, supposedly they’re making a TV show based on the books for Netflix. But honestly? These are the exceptions, not the rule. If I started listing superhero flicks or blockbuster action movies from the last 5 years, we might as well set up a tent. But I’m really struggling when it comes to fantasy. So I suppose the big question that needs to be asked is: Why exactly does this occur? Honestly, I wish I knew. My theory was that in both the US and UK we’re facing some pretty bad times, and people aren’t looking for fantasy escapism at the moment… Except, that theory falls flat on its back when you realize that other forms of escapism (again, like superheroes and, to a certain extent, sci-fi), seem to be flourishing.

The cold, hard truth is that I don’t know why fantasy is in such a drought. Maybe there’s demand for it from people (like me, hello!), but nobody’s really doing much about it. Or maybe people are so afraid that “Game of Thrones” is dominating the market that they’re afraid to try anything different because they know they’ll never come out on top. I don’t know, neither of those ideas seems sound to me. Maybe it’s just that people got sick of fantasy? Perhaps they see nothing new that can be done with the genre, and so they leave it aside, dooming it to go the way of the western? I really hope that’s not the case, but at this point, what else could it be? I’d like to think that, much like how “Iron Man” and “The Dark Knight” in 2008 helped revitalize the superhero genre and bring it into a golden age, we also need just one decent fantasy novel or movie to do the same. But at this point, I can only hope.

Harry PotterRecently, the magical world was caught by storm with the release of “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child” – a brand new book in the fabled Harry Potter universe! Hooray! Fans of the books have waited for almost ten years for a new entry in their beloved franchise, and it seems like they finally got it! Oh, what magical adventures await Harry, Ron and Hermione this time? But wait a minute… Something about that Amazon page seems kind of off… This isn’t a book, it’s a play script! And worst of all, it’s not even written by “Harry Potter” author JK Rowling, but rather by some dude named Jack Thorne, based only on an original idea by Rowling! Hell, this isn’t even a direct continuation of the books – it takes place years later and focuses on their kids! Wait a minute… This isn’t a proper book at all! It’s… It’s… It’s fanfiction, isn’t it?

Fanfiction, or original writing set in a fictional universe created by someone else, has existed for practically as long as time itself. “The Epic of Gilgamesh” – one of the very first stories ever recorded in the history of humanity – is essentially fanfiction, as the different tablets were written by different people, and thus the story of Gilgamesh was likely shaped by numerous authors. The same goes for various mythologies, which developed over hundreds of years and had thousands of different authors, each of which developed over what their predecessors built. But those things are kind of different from our modern understanding of “fanfiction”, aren’t they? If Person A created a Greek hero (say, Heracles), and then Person B decided to create a story about his death, then that story is part of Heracles’ legend despite the fact that it wasn’t created by the original author.

Meanwhile, when it comes to modern fanfiction, the overwhelming majority of it is not “canon” and doesn’t in any way affect the fictional universe we chose to explore. If Person A creates a hero today (say, Harry Potter), and then Person B writes a story about Harry Potter’s death, Harry Potter will still technically be alive because his original author has deemed it so. The same principle even holds true for comic books, which are the closest we’ve got to our own mythology – despite the fact that dozens of people write the same characters and build their world, if someone who is not specifically authorized to do so writes a story about them, that story will not affect them in any way, shape or form.

That brings us to a matter that many people in the ancient world didn’t really need to deal with – copyright. Thousands of years ago, there was no copyright – creating a story meant releasing it into the world. If Homer wanted to create a character for one of his epics (like the sorceress Medea), he had absolutely no claim over that character. Things have changed a lot since then, and now it’s really up to the copyright owner to decide what is canon for their universe and what is not. In fact, over the years, several fanfictions have been elevated to canon status, and in addition certain authors have been hired to create brand new entries in certain franchises that they didn’t originate (a good example is JJ Abrams with both “Star Wars” and “Star Trek”). Hell, purely technically speaking, the latest season of “Game of Thrones” is fanfiction, as the books haven’t caught up yet.

So, I guess the right question we should be asking is whether something should still be considered fanfiction if it’s canon, even if it wasn’t created by a work’s original author. How important is authorship, anyway? Are works of art really just a vision of their creators and nothing else, or are they ever evolving, living things much like the myths of the past? I guess an argument can be made for either. With that said, I’m afraid I can’t really answer the question whether “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child” is fanfiction or not. Sure, it wasn’t written by Rowling, but it’s still an established part of the universe, so… I guess you’re the only one who can draw your own conclusions! What do you guys think? GamingHey, all! I’m going to take a brief break from reviewing books to talk about a little topic that I’ve been thinking about lately. As some of you might know, E3 – the biggest expo in gaming – happened once again just now, for the 21st year in a row. For those of you who don’t know, the biggest announcements in gaming are typically made at expos, such as Tokyo Game Show, PAX or, of course, E3, which features press conferences from pretty much every major player in gaming. We’re talking Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Bethesda, Ubisoft, even a specialized PC gaming show! Now, I’m not the biggest gamer in the world, but I always enjoy watching these press conferences live (even if my connection, while upgraded since my first post on this blog, still leaves a lot to be desired). There’s just something awfully intriguing about watching all of these promises, all of these potential games and new technologies which are coming in the near future from the biggest names in gaming. Suffice to say, the hype is real!

But the truth is, I’m a bigger iGaming player than I am a gaming player. I’ve played more slots than videogames in the last year… And keep in mind, I’m not even the biggest gambler you’ll ever meet! So that got me thinking – why don’t we have an event like E3, but for iGaming? Now, don’t get me wrong, iGaming has TONS of conventions and shows, like, a whole bunch, all over the world. A simple Google search can tell you that much. But pretty much all of them are aimed at businesses. When you watch E3, you watch it to see all of the new and exciting games that are coming out soon. When you go to, say, the London Affiliate Conference, you go to make connections and push your business. It’s not the same thing at all.

What I would LOVE to see is a press conference where top developers from NetEnt, Microgaming, Playtech and more step on stage, show off their new slots, brag about their new licensing deals and tell us why we, the players, should be trying out their new slots. I want to be invested in the showbiz, I want to get hyped for all the new games coming out, and I want to learn about, say, a “Wonder Woman” slot coming out from a big press conference rather than from a news site, or by randomly stumbling upon it. And it’s not like the audience for online casino is small, there’s tons of people who care about it and follow the news, and I’m sure they’d be highly interested in watching such an event! Even if it wasn’t a press conference, but just a pre-recorded video (the way Nintendo is doing at E3), it’d still be phenomenal! Make it happen, iGaming! I’m counting on ya!

Free booksI’ve spoken before about my absolutely gigantic library of fantasy and science fiction books, courtesy of my grandfather. I haven’t even read half of them (I’m getting there, don’t rush me!) and yet I still feel this need to read even more books! Okay, okay, I admit it – I may be very addicted to reading. I feel kind of empty without a book or a tablet in my hands, and I’m sure that many of you can relate. Sadly, my budget tends to be sort of limited. I need to pay for rent, food, clothes, transportation, and then there’s bills and taxes… If I could, I’d spend all my money on books, but unfortunately, reality is a bit different. Then again, I don’t really need to! There’s plenty of places online where I can get books for free! The most obvious one is, of course, my local library. You’re bound to have at least one in your vicinity, right? So go there, check it out and see what you can find! And if you’d prefer not to leave your house, fear not – you can always use an app, such as Overdrive, to lend books digitally, as long as your library is participating!

If you own a Kindle, or a tablet which supports the Kindle app, you’re in a whole ton of luck! Amazon in particular has plenty of classic books, such as “A Tale of Two Cities”, “Tom Sawyer” or “Pride and Prejudice”, for free on the Amazon store. All you need to do is register an account and “purchase” them for free, and then they’ll be added to your library on your device! In addition, there’s several online services, the best of which is definitely Freebooksy, that give you a slew of free books every single day! You can browse the free books of the day on the site or you can sign up for a newsletter, where you get to specify your favourite genres and receive only books from them straight into your mailbox! It’s amazing, trust me! I’ve only been using Freebooksy for a little over a month now, and have already gathered so many books that even my grandfather would be jealous!

If you’re a fan of audiobooks instead, there’s always Audible! Audible will give you a 30 day free trial during which you can pick any audiobook you want for free! If you don’t like it, or if you finish it and want more, you can always return it and get a new one within those 30 days. If you sign up for a membership, that way you can get practically unlimited audiobooks for as long as your membership lasts, and since you also get 1 free book every month if you really like a book and would like to keep it you can do that! Using those sites, I’m sure that soon enough you’ll have more books than you can possibly read!

Too much informationMany regard information overload as being one of the major issues of today’s digital age. With our computers, phones and tablets, all of which are now permanently connected to the Internet thanks to 3G and wi-fi, we are literally flooded with information every single moment. I’m not just talking about information in terms of books, articles and research, but also stuff like social media feeds, instant messages, e-mails, any and all pieces of writing which contain information. It’s easy to say “well, if you don’t like it just unplug”, but many of us are using Internet and communications for our jobs, or to keep up with friends, so dealing with information overload may become an issue… Or so a lot of people are trying to make us believe. People such as tech entrepreneur Rohan Silva, whose name shares a surprising similarity to that of Bond villain Raoul Silva. I’m just saying!

In a feature published by “The Guardian”, Silva explains that he has created his own library in London that he has named Libreria, which sounds a lot like the country of the Marvel villain Doctor Doom, Latveria. I’m just saying! Now, Libreria is pretty much exactly the same as any other library, except for one small detail – phones and tablets are completely banned within its walls. To paraphrase the interview, Silva states precisely concerns about information overload when explaining his “no smart-technology” rule. According to him, human beings need a space to relax without being constantly bombarded by information, and that space might as well be a quiet library. I have a few problems with that statement, however. First of all, a library is, by definition, a place full of information! While right now I’m carrying a library with me all the time thanks to my tablet, only twenty years ago that’s where people went when they needed information! If you were really worried about information overload, why not make something that doesn’t contain a lot of information, like a quiet, nice café or something?

My second problem with this is that I don’t really believe that information overload is a problem for most people. I know for a fact that those with autism have it. One of my best friends has Asperger’s, and she sometimes feels overloaded and has to go somewhere quieter, or else she’ll go into full-out meltdown mode. That’s understandable. But come on – have you, the person reading this, ever felt overloaded with information? And if so, why didn’t you just, I don’t know, turn off your phone and go out? Yeah, sure, I mentioned earlier that many of us use those for work, but if you feel so overloaded, why not limit the amount of information you get? Turn off your notifications! Limit yourself to 20 minutes of Facebook a day! Try to fight the compulsion to constantly check your e-mail or instant messages (I know that one’s hard, especially when expecting someone important to write, but hang in there). If you can’t do that, then you really only have yourself to blame.

Roulette ColoursI want you to visualize a roulette table in your mind. No, seriously, go ahead and do it. Close your eyes if you have to, take a moment. It doesn’t have to be super detailed, but I’d like you to imagine it as closely as you can. You good? Okay, take a look at the top of the table and let me know what are the three colours you see. Did you spot them? For the more creatively challenged of you (hey, no worries, none of us are perfect), they’re red, black and green. Have you ever wondered why those colours in particular? After all, aren’t opposite colours on the spectrum, such as black and white or red and blue be more logical? Why did the people who invented roulette pick those particular colours, and if they didn’t, who did, and for what reason?

Are you ready for the kicker? Nobody knows.

Not a single piece of evidence has survived the 200+ years in which the game has existed in order to let us know why green, black and red were picked over literally any other colour! Hell, we don’t even know if they did, since nobody bothered to write down what the colours on the roulette table were back when it was first played, and the oldest surviving roulette table that we have in our possession is less than a hundred years old, so that’s not really a great indicator. You don’t believe me? Look it up, you won’t be able to find a concrete answer about any of this! Lots of theories exist, the most probable one having to do with the fact that black and red just look good (but then again, so do many other colours), which is why they were selected.

Thus far, we don’t have a concrete answer, and honestly, maybe it doesn’t really matter why things are the way they are… But I, for one, am extremely curious! I mean, sure, it’s not one of the greatest questions of the universe, such as why we’re here and what’s the meaning of life (to play videogames and 42, by the way), but it’s still something interesting to think about. If you’ve got any ideas, be sure to e-mail me!

Hey, guys! I have a confession to make! I kinda sorta enjoy playing online slots… like, a lot. I’m not really a huge fan of other online casino games, or of casino in general (I play some blackjack and poker with my friends from time to time, but it’s rare and never for real money) – hell, I’ve never even stepped into a real casino before! But there’s something oddly relaxing about watching those reels spin, isn’t there? I don’t even really care about winnings – I don’t consider myself a gambler, so more often than not I just play slots on my phone in demo mode (funnily enough, my phone’s 3G network is better than my laptop’s wired Internet connection, if you can believe that). That’s not to say I don’t bet at all, I just don’t do it as often – I don’t consider myself a gambler, and besides, I prefer to spend my disposable income on stuff like books and videogames. But whenever I’m too tired to do anything, but still want to do something, I usually just lie down and open up a slot on my phone.

And I’m not the only one – online slots, and online gambling in general, is more popular in the UK than ever. I know for a fact that quite a lot of people are interested in it, but have no idea where to start. And since there’s plenty of brilliant guides for that online (and even if there wasn’t, I’m hardly the ideal person to introduce someone to the best online casinos), I decided to write up something a little different – a list of my 3 favourite fantasy-themed slots. I mean, there’s literally hundreds upon hundreds of slots online, but these three are my own, personal picks, and might be a pretty good place to start if you’re wondering what to try. If they caught your eye, then you can read more about the best online slots here. Remember – this is my list, so if you have your own favourite fantasy slots that aren’t here it probably means that I either don’t like them as much or I simply haven’t heard of it. In any case, always feel free to contact me and let me know! With that out of the way, let’s get right down to the list!

1. Thunderstruck II

Thunderstruck IIWho doesn’t like a little Norse mythology? Whether you learned about it from history class, the recent Marvel movies or, like me, from Horrible Histories, you most likely agree that Norse mythology is one of the most fascinating ones ever crafted, perhaps second only to the myths of the ancient Greeks. With so many utterly badass characters and compelling worlds, it’s no wonder that the beliefs of the Nords have survived to this day. And since everything popular needs to have its own slot machine, Tunderstruck II was born, loosely based on the themes and characters from Norse mythology. In fairness, I have never actually played Thunderstruck I, as II is a very decent and sufficient slot all on its own. The main thing that makes it unique is the so-called “Hall of Heroes”, which gives you free spins if you manage to get three Mjolnir symbols (for the uneducated, Mjolnir is the name of Thor’s hammer). The bonuses you get depend on which of the four heroes from the Hall of Heroes you get, with each one providing you with a set number of free spins and some kind of bonus. For example, the Valkyrie gives you 10 Free Spins and a x5 multiplier on your winnings, while Odin gives you 20 free spins and the Wild Raven feature, which can randomly turn a symbol into a 2x or 3x multiplier (which stack). Which Hero you get depends on how often you manage to access the Hall of Heroes, which encourages playing the long game – if you want to get the best possible bonuses. Overall, “Thunderstruck II” is a very solid slot that wears its inspiration proudly on its sleeve. I only wish they’d included more Norse myths, like the one where Loki turns into a mare, seduces a horse and gets pregnant. Okay, maybe not that one…

2. Game of Thrones

Game of ThronesBrace yourselves, obligatory “South Park” references are coming! Remember earlier when I said that everything popular needs to have its own online slot or at least a slot machine? You didn’t think that one of the most popular fantasy TV series of all time would be exempt from that rule, did you? “Game of Thrones” caught the world by storm when it aired a few years ago. It proved, once and for all, that fantasy wasn’t just about magic and unicorns – it could also be about betrayal, political games, public executions and oh SO many breasts (an average of 5.6 per episode). Sadly, none of that makes it into the online slot version… for obvious reasons. While gambling is illegal for anyone under 18, for some reason most, if not all online slots are so tame they’d easily be considered children’s games. I do believe that the use of the show’s more violent/controversial themes would’ve given the slot an identity, which it really needs considering that it’s pretty average overall. It’s kinda like fast food – it tastes really good and fills you up nicely, but in a few hours you’ll completely forget what exactly you ate. Similarly, the “Game of Thrones” slot looks and feels great, with smooth animations (though I could’ve used a few more frames per second), nice colour palette that really makes the symbols pop, and, of course, the music from the show playing in the background ad nauseam, but it doesn’t really have anything unique about it that will make you keep coming back for more. The most interesting feature is one that’s very similar to the “Hall of Heroes” from Thunderstruck II – getting three Iron Throne symbols allows you to join one of the 4 houses, with each giving you a set of free spins and multipliers. But unlike the Hall of Heroes, where the bonuses only grow, the houses’ bonuses are more or less equal (usually the more free spins you get, the lesser your multiplier would be, and vice versa). In conclusion, I’d say that the “Game of Thrones” slot is a pretty decent one… if you’re a fan of the show and have never played a slot before.

3. Avalon II

Avalon IIKeep in mind that this list isn’t in any particular order – I’m not really good at top 10s, or top 3s, in this case. But if I had to pick my favourite among the three, it would most likely be Avalon II. As the name might suggest, it’s A) a sequel to an apparently rather popular slot, which I’ve, admittedly, never played before in my life, and B) based on the Arthurian mythos. You know, Avalon is the place where King Arthur and most of his knights go after death… Or right before death, or something. I don’t know, Arthurian myths are confusing, and honestly, my biggest exposure to King Arthur comes from “Fate/Stay Night”, where he’s a lady, and “Monty Python”, where he’s a doofus. So I’m not exactly the biggest Arthurian expert around, but then again, we’re talking about an online slot machine here, not an English literature class. Basically, “Avalon II” tells the story of Arthur’s quest for the Holy Grail, which is actually represented quite well with the slot’s mechanics. While you’re still looking, you’ll occasionally encounter Merlin randomly, who’s going to give you free spins and multipliers. It’s a really nice touch to nudge you forward a little bit when you feel like you’re stuck in a non-winnings streak. But the real fun comes when you finally do manage to find the Holy Grail (represented by, you’ve guessed it, getting 3 Grail symbols), which activates one of 8 different bonus games and conditions. I’m obviously not going to list them here because I would very much like to keep this article under 2000 words, but they’re al really excellent and interesting. You’ll be reforging Excalibur, making your way through forests and navigating keeps, with each game bringing its own rules and rewards to the table. It is INCREDIBLY satisfying, and it’s one of the biggest reasons why I’ve played this for as long as I have – the sheer number of bonus minigames, and just how different they are from each other, keep this slot very engaging and fun. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s even remotely interested in trying it out!

fantasy castleHello to all hobbits, trolls, goblins and elves! My name is Stephanie Graeme, but most people call me Steph, and you can too if you’d like! I mean, Stephanie is kind of a long name, isn’t it? Anyway, I’m getting off track (you’d find that I tend to do this a lot). I’ve lived all my life in a small, boring village in Essex called Epping Green, which is about 15 miles away from London and has a population of, like, three and a half people. Don’t get me wrong, the village is incredibly peaceful and I love it to death (if you’ve ever played the game “Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture”, Epping Green is basically EXACTLY like Yaughton from the game), but there’s also not a whole lot to do here. I have to catch the bus and go to London if I want to go to the cinema or something like that. Nowadays it’s a bit easier because of the Internet (even if my connection is so bad that simply publishing this post to my blog will take roughly 10 minutes), but when I was a child there was pretty much nothing to do other than hang around with the same 2-3 friends I’ve had since we were babies. But my grandfather has always been a book collector – he’s got a library of literally hundreds upon hundreds of books, to the point where a good chunk of them can’t even be displayed on his gigantic bookshelf! When I was about 8 he introduced me to fantasy, and honestly, I’ve been hooked ever since! Even in the modern age of premium television and YouTube, for me there’s nothing quite like a good fantasy novel! That’s not the only genre I read, obviously, but I do primarily gravitate towards fantasy, to the point where I literally won’t shut up about it if asked! That’s why I decided to create this blog and perhaps recommend some good fantasy books to people who are interested. I know that it’s mostly going to be friends and family that’ll be reading, but I don’t mind – I still hope I can be helpful to as many people as I can! Look forward to reviews, news and other articles in the near future! Cheerio!

-Steph
